Supervises:
Primary Purpose: To safeguard the property, employees, students, and visitors of the school district from harm or injury.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- High School Diploma or GED.
Special Knowledge Skills:
- Interpersonal skills
- Writing skills
- Ability to work and related to young adults
- Reliable personal transportation
Experience:
- Security or law enforcement training preferred
- Previous security experience preferred.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Remain alert and actively pursue a program to deter and detect illegal drug and alcohol activity.
- Monitor and patrol all campus facilities and property including the buildings, parking lots, etc.
- Monitor and enforce parking procedures
- Interdict the presence of weapons
- Prevent unauthorized person from entering property
- Work within ECISD policies and procedures to protect staff, students, visitors and property from harm
- Apply district policies and procedures to situations involving crimes, security violations, emergencies and or safety incidents
- Work closely with administrators in assisting them in maintaining the security of their assigned campuses
- Report incidents of crime involving ECISD students, staff, and property
- Prepare and submit written reports on activities, incidents, and unsafe or hazardous conditions
- Assist in conducting investigations and makes preliminary investigative reports.
- Advise school administrators on search and seizure rules and procedures
- Inspect ECISD property for compliance with safety and security measures and make recommendations for improvement where needed.
- Assist District Police Officers in surveillance measures and other law enforcement duties when required
- Work after hours assignments as periodically required
- Keep supervisor informed on all matters effecting the school and school district
- Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor
