Job Title: Tire Serviceman                                      Wage/Hour Status: Non-Exempt

Reports to: Shop Supervisor                                     Pay Grade: 5

Dept. /School: Transportation                                  Days: 227

Primary Purpose: Insure that the tires on all ECISD vehicles are maintained in a manner to avoid delays of work schedules due to tire problems.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

• High School graduate, or GED preferred
• Class B CDL with proper endorsements
• State School Bus Driver Certification
• Good driving record
• Pass D.O.T. physical, pre-employment drug test, and background check

Special Knowledge Skills:

• Ability to mount and repair tires
• Must safely drive a schoolbus in all weather and road conditions
• Must have the ability to manage, communicate, and interact with students of all ages in a professional way

Experience:

• Previous experience repairing and mounting tires preferred

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

• Assist with carrying out the responsibilities and duties associated with maintaining tires in a safe and efficient district vehicle fleet.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Manage bus riders while driving a bus.

Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent districtwide and statewide travel; occasional prolonged or irregular hours.
