Job Title: Digital Learning Specialist Wage/Hour Status: Exempt

Primary Purpose: To empower classroom teachers & district staff with the ability to integrate instructional technology tools to effectively support learning targets set by our curriculum as well as to safely and purposefully navigate the digital environment. This support is provided by this position via one on one planning time, collaborating with campus leadership to determine opportunities to support campus goals, leading Professional Learning Communities at the campus level, designing and presenting professional learning for other district team members and staying current through research and personal growth in the ever-changing education technology world.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor’s Degree, Masters Preferred
- Professional Teaching Certification
Special Knowledge Skills:
- Strong communication & interpersonal skills
- The ability and reliability to function well in a team environment
- Ability to speak publicly and present professional learning to any number of district staff
- High level understanding of education technology pedagogy and digital integration strategies
- Willingness to experience new and take risks to grow
Experience:
- Experience using education technology in the classrooms and/or experience supporting those in the classroom with education technology integration
- Classroom Teaching Experience (at least 5 years preferred)
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Support and carry out the district’s strategic plan for learning by enhancing student learning with the integration of technology tools.
- Designing engaging learning experiences for students with classroom teachers and other staff
- Identifying district support needs as a part of a team & designing professional learning opportunities to support those needs for our adult learners
- Support classroom teachers and staff with implementation of new education technology district platforms, communication tools and resources
- Seek out and participate in opportunities to stay current in both effective and emerging tools and be able to make recommendations to staff and campuses when approached with a need
- Identify opportunities to share new learning, strategies to consider and resources for the classroom with staff for education technology integration
- Inspire improvement of student achievement and digital literacy skills through coaching, co-teaching, collaborating with teachers, building administrators and other district personnel.
- Initiate and promote the use of new technologies.
- Create, lead and support a district wide professional learning community/network
- Perform other duties as requested by supervisor listed above.
