Job Title: Bond & Grant Accountant
Reports to: Assistant Director of Finance Pay Grade: Admin Pay 2

Primary Purpose: Assist with the successful management of the district finance processes.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in business/accounting
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Working knowledge of governmental financial
- Knowledge of accounting and auditing principles.
- Proficient skills in keyboarding and file maintenance.
- Effective work with numbers accurately and rapidly.
- Effective organizational, communication, customer service, and interpersonal
- Ability to use software to develop spreadsheets, databases, and Word documents.
- Ability to document procedures and implement procedures and policies.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data for accuracy. Detail oriented.
- Ability to assist with management of budget.
- Ability to assist with year-end procedures.
- Ability to coordinate district functions.
Experience:
- Two years of governmental accounting
- Preferred experience in bond and/or grant accounting.
- Other qualifications as deemed appropriate by the Chief Financial Officer.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Bond Accounting and Reporting
- Oversee and set up accounts and budgets for bond activities.
- Monitor bond program expenditures.
- Work with Operations personnel as necessary on bond projects.
- Collaborate with other various departments and personnel to ensure proper management of bond accounts.
- Maintain records of ongoing bond projects as it relates to financial reporting.
- Reconcile monthly applications for bond payments and statements.
- Assist in preparing information for bond finance reports.
- Grant Accounting and Reporting
- Oversee and set up accounts and budgets for grants.
- Monitor grant expenditures.
- Collaborate with program directors to ensure proper management of grant accounts and timely expenditures of grant funds.
- Work with Grant Writer and others as needed to assist in budget preparation for grant applications.
- Submit monthly expenditure reports for reimbursement in a timely manner.
- Prepare revenue and indirect cost journal entries of claimed expenditures.
- Provide training to campus/department stakeholders on grant financial administration.
- Additional Accounting and Reporting Responsibilities
- Review financial data for reasonableness and monthly reporting.
- Ensure bond/grant fund compliance.
- Effectively communicate verbally and electronically regarding bond/grant items.
- Design and maintain various spreadsheets and databases to track the details for bond/grant items.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and end-of-year reports for bond/grants activities.
- Prepare and review journal entries and budget transfers as needed and for month-end and year-end closing.
- Compile year-end reports, work papers, and analysis necessary for the District’s annual audit.
- Assist Executive Director and Assistant Director in financial requirements to ensure correct governmental and accrual accounting procedures.

- Implement policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy in area of business operations.
- Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required.
