Pay Grade: starting at $68,430

The STEM Academy is a K-12 school of choice charter school within Ector County ISD. The
STEM Academy prepares students to be STEM college and career ready, with a shared focus
on collaboration, communication, and critical thinking.

 

Requirements:
Education/Certification:
* Master’s degree
* Texas Principal or other appropriate Texas certificate
* Certified Texas-Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS) appraiser

Special Knowledge Skills:
* Thorough understanding of school operations
* Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
* Knowledge of best instructional practices
* Knowledge of Project Based Learning and TEKS
* Knowledge of STEM Academy model and design

Experience:
*Three years teaching experience.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
* Overseeing, monitoring, reporting, and supervising day-to-day operations of teaching
and learning, including staff from various departments such as Special Education,
Reading Specialist and the Academic Counselor.
* Maintain proper and and timely communication with supervisor (operating partners),
instructional staff, parents, and community members.
* Continuously improvement of instructional practices that provide authentic learning
experiences, support the needs of ALL students, and implementation of effective and
engaging instructional strategies in the classroom.
* Hold high expectations for self and others to achieve and surpass intended goals.
* Help shape and develop a school wide culture that fosters a productive and enthusiastic
learning environment for each student.
* Demonstrating exceptional ability to function as part of a team and engage in practices
that support the school’s Mission.
* Provide instructional leadership for all instructional staff.
* Provide leadership in professional growth and development.
* Oversee campus assessments (EOC, STAAR, RTI, TELPAS, TSI, SAT, Benchmarks,
etc.)
* Oversee committees such as ARD, RTI, LPAC, and 504.
*Monitor and track assessment results for the campus.
* Coordinate the development of the master schedule.
* Participation in recruiting/screening/interviewing of quality professional staff.
* Lead school-wide activities and events.
* Facilitate Professional Learning Communities.
* Serve as an appraiser evaluating teacher performance.
* Adhere to all policies and procedures established by ECISD and UTPB STEM Academy
operating partners.
