Education/Certification:
- High School Diploma or GED from an accredited HS or GED Program
Special Knowledge Skills:
- Knowledge of the social, emotional, physical, intellectual and creative needs of young children.
- Ability to relate positively to young children.
- Ability to work well with parents and the ability to understand their needs and requests.
Experience:
- Previous teaching experience in pre-school or day care is helpful
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Supervise children.
- Be responsible for the appearance, arrangement and learning environment of the Day Care area.
- Participate in 15 clock hours annually of documented training in early childhood development.
- Be familiar with state licensing laws, minimum standards and guidelines for detecting and reporting child neglect and abuse.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent districtwide and statewide travel; occasional prolonged or irregular hours.
