Primary Purpose: To aid in the procuring function of the day-to-day operation of the Purchasing Department.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Associates Degree preferred.
- TASBO certification preferred.
Special Knowledge Skills:
- Customer service.
- Positive, effective, and efficient work ethic.
- Must be able to use computers, scanners, software, and phone systems.
Experience:
- 2 years purchasing experience preferred.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Communicate with co-workers, other district employees, and vendors, in a professional manner.
- Distribute purchase orders (by mail, e-mail, or accounting for processing).
- Performs a wide variety of clerical duties in support of the purchasing function; responds to questions regarding purchasing policies and procedures.
- Review of requisitions for compliance for purchasing and accounting procedures.
- Maintain punch out vendor processing.
- Assist in P-Card distribution and scheduling of Sam’s Club card
- Process change orders for purchase orders.
- Assist in vendor management including new vendor set up and employee vendor profile for travel.
- Obtain quotes.
- Ordering supplies.
- Trains new users in the District purchase order software system; answers user software system questions related to the purchase order or vendor areas.
- Assist other Purchasing Department personnel, when needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Purchasing / Purchasing Supervisor.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Working Conditions: Inside work conditions. Work day is 8:00 to 5:00.
