Job Title: School Nutrition Equipment Technician Wage/Hour Status: Hourly

Primary Purpose:
Responsible for the preventative maintenance, inventory, repair, and installation of kitchen equipment.
Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Valid, current Texas Driver’s license.
- Working toward HVAC certification.
- 1-2 years experience in electrical/electronic control systems preferred.
- 1-2 years experience installing and servicing commercial kitchen equipment preferred.
- Ability to obtain forklift certification.
- Working towards Texas Association of School Nutrition Level V Certification.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- On-call 24/7 for emergency needs related to School Nutrition kitchens or equipment.
- Installs, maintains and monitors new equipment projects.
- Assists with a preventative maintenance schedule for all kitchen equipment.
- Assists with the bi-annual inventory of all kitchen equipment.
- Ability to maintain maintenance records and prepare reports.
- Maintains storage warehouse and service truck with the material necessary to keep kitchens operating properly.
- Willingness to cooperate with and assist maintenance department personnel as needed for kitchen repairs.
- Ability to prioritize and complete work requests in a timely manner.
- Communicates effectively orally and in writing.
- Works independently or collaboratively with others in a wide variety of circumstances.
- Demonstrates good safety habits and response to emergency situations.
- Organizes conflicting work priorities while coordinating multiple projects and deadlines.
- Demonstrates teamwork, flexibility, and ability to adapt to new ideas and situations.
- Performs multiple, highly complex technical tasks needing upgrade skills to meet changing job conditions periodically.
- Possesses computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Maintain high standards of personal hygiene, appearance, and grooming.
- Performs other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Mental Conditions/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, walking, pushing, and pulling;
moderate lifting and carrying; some stooping, bending, and kneeling; frequent exposure to extreme
hot and cold temperatures. Must be able to lift 25-5o pounds without restriction. The School Nutrition Warehouse is a cold storage facility with temperatures ranging from -19 to 70 degrees.
